Corrado hermit, died in 1351, the cave where he had lived as a hermit
for many years in the Valley of Pizzoni at Noto, where today the "church
outside the walls of the Hermitage," which includes the cave. On 19
February, the day of his death, there is the patron.
There is a
procession, with the "vara" silver urn containing the saint's body,
which is carried through the streets of the town.
Every ten years, the
procession with the casket reaches the cave, with a route that takes
place during the night and covers the 10 km that separate the city from
the hermitage original. Characteristic are the bearers of artistic
candles, painted with symbols connected to the figure of the patron.
