Noto has been the setting for several films, some made by the greatest masters of world cinema: Roberto Rossellini, who shot parts of "Long Live Italy" and Vittorio De Sica, who has run his last known film " The trip ", with Richard Burton and Sophia Loren, Michelangelo Antonioni, who besides having set part of" The Adventure ", dedicated to the first two parts of the known documentary" Noto, Almond, Vulcano, Stromboli, Carnevale, "made Italian Pavilion for Expo held in Seville in 1992. The particular propensity of Noto to be the scene of performing arts such as films but not only, has also been observed by Leonardo Sciascia, who believed that Noto was "the perfect setting for comedy." Sciascia claimed it:
